Nilima Parekhji, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., J.D.
Dr. Nilima Parekhji is a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Her extensive training includes one year internship in OB-GYN at Queens General Hospital, Long Island Jewish Hillside affiliate in New York, three years residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Case Western Reserve University after completing five and one-half years of medical school and three years residency in OB-GYN at Bombay University, in India. Dr. Parekhji very strongly believes in patient participation involving medical care. She takes pride in educating patients regarding their normal body functions and problems relating to abnormal functions. Dr. Parekhji has a special expertise in managing complicated high-risk pregnancies and Infertility. In 1996, Dr. Parekhji graduated from Santa Clara University as an Attorney at Law and has passed the California Bar. Additionally she speaks many Indian languages.
Sarita Johnson, M.D.
Dr. Sarita Johnson attended the University of California at Berkeley for her undergraduate education, and received her medical training at Northwestern University Medical School and the University of California, San Francisco. After interning at Saint Luke's Hospital in Chicago, she practiced Family Medicine in Los Angeles, then for ten years was on the staff of the Stanford University Student Health Service, where she developed a close relationship with college students, and a particular concern for women's issues. It is this interest which led her to focus on Gynecology and women's general medicine. She also has a special interest in the relationship of stress and environmental problems to disease. Dr. Johnson is in private practice in the Good Samaritan area, and is a member of the Santa Clara County Medical Society and the South Bay Chapter of the American Medical Women's Association.
Liz Summerhayes, R.N., N.P., C.N.M.
Liz, British born and educated, received her nursing degree at University College, London and Midwifery at St. John's Essex, England. She traveled to Australia to work as a midwife for 2 years before coming to work in California in the Los Gatos area where she has lived since 1973.
As a Nurse Practitioner in Women's Health, she has practiced since 1978
and loves her work providing both obstetrical and gynecological care.
Her thoroughness, patience, caring and skills are demanding but women
are quick to respond to her warmth and knowledge thus the rewards are enormous.
Lois Crowell, C.N.M., M.S.
Lois received her certificate in Nurse Midwifery and Nurse
practitioner from SF General and UCSF in 1977. She then
went on to obtain her Masters in Midwifery from Philadelphia
University. Lois worked 30 years as a nurse in Labor and Delivery
before going back to school to become a midwife. Her first
position was in a clinic in Texas at a Satellite hospital of Baylor
University Medical Center south of Dallas. For the last four years she has
been in private practices in the Bay area. Lois believes in the midwifery
model of care and evidence based practice. She sees prenatal and gynecological
clients in the office, and consults with Dr. Parehkji when necessary.
